Description
Negative shows a men, women, and children participating in the 1986 y-Walk near the corner of Second Street and East San Carlos Street. One women is pushing a stroller with a baby in it. Most of them are wearing tee shirts that read: "Walk for women. YWCA 1986", and some are carrying balloons. The area they are walking in looks industrial. There are buildings on the right and in the background, a chain link fence in the foreground ahead of the walkers, and a few cars in various areas. On envelope "1986 Y-Walk." On large envelope holding smaller envelope used to hold the negatives: "Name: Brock, Trish. Date: 12/2-. Phone: 295-4011. "Executive Director Faith Rein (the top job had been renamed again) and President Sarah Janigian launched two annual events that heaped public attention on the association: the Y-Walk downtown in 1984, in which volunteers enlisted sponsors to raise money for YWCA programs; and TWIN, Tribute to Women and Industry, in 1985."
