Photo taken by the WPA for the book, "Los Angeles: A Guide to the City." The building has a steel frame covered in granite-like terra cotta on California granite base. This Goodhue-esque structure has classical detailing at the base (Greek main entrance and Romanesque arcades); with a Moderne campanile-like tower influenced by Ziggurat construction. It was designed by associated architects Austin, Parkinson and Martin, and is located at 200 N. Spring Street, on the southeast corner of S. Spring and W. Temple streets in Downtown's L.A. Civic Center. Los Angeles City Hall, as seen from Spring Street.
