Description
The elegant Hotel Sacramento is captured in this March 28, 1938 photograph. In 1907, a 50-year, 10-month lease was signed by hotel management. The deal expired in 1957 and, with it, the lifespan of one of Sacramento's most prominent downtown meeting spots. A 50,000-square-foot Woolworth's variety store was built in its place in 1957.
