Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the Catholic church building in Bodie, California, ca.1885. A dirt path cuts through the field of weeds in the foreground at center with the church to the right of it. Three windows can be seen in the near side of the wooden church while a staircase leads to the front door on the left. A modest cross stands at the apex of the roof just above the front door. The rest of the town resides in the background on the left, further down the dirt path. The church obstructs the view of the hills in the distance. It was dedicated on September 10th, 1882 and seen over by Father Cassin. The church burned down a few years later.
