Description
This recording features a 1967 debate between William Banowsky, soon to be president of Pepperdine University, and Anson Mount, religion editor for Playboy magazine, on the topic of sex, society, and morality. The debate took place on October 8, 1967 at the Lubbock Municipal Auditorium in Lubbock, Texas before an audience of 3000 people, mostly college students. Banowsky was minister of the Broadway Church of Christ in Lubbock, and was, at the time of this recording, already in talks with M. Norvel Young over his return to Pepperdine to over see the move to Malibu. Part two includes the conclusion of Banowsky's statement, Mount's response (25:54), Banowsky's response (37:55), and questions from the audience (40:00). The moderator is Dr. S. M.
