Photograph caption dated March 30, 1989 reads, "'Rain' men: producer Mark Johnson, title character Dustin Hoffman, co-star Tom Cruise and director Barry Levinson with Oscars." Rain Man won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role (Dustin Hoffman), Best Director, and Best Writing, Original Screenplay. It was nominated for Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Best Cinematography (John Seale), Best Film Editing, and Best Music, Original Score. The 61st Academy Awards were presented on March 27, 1989 at the Shrine Auditorium.
