Description: St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon near Saugus was completed in 1926 and failed in 1928. It was part of the Owens Valley Aqueduct System. This post-failure photograph shows a view of the devastation caused by the 100 foot high wall of water which raced towards Ventura, knocking away hugh pieces of the face of the dam and leaving only one piece standing.
