Photograph caption dated July 8, 1960 reads, "Sally MacGregor of Los Angeles, operator, and secretary Carol Walker of Austin, Texas, with pad, man the switchboard and office of Lyndon Johnson for President Headquarters on the first floor of the Biltmore Hotel. Each candidate's headquarters was equipped with a switchboard to coordinate their politicking during the 1960 convention."
