Description: The Smith family poses outside their home before they were relocated to Rose Hills by the Housing Authority. This family of eight slept in this one room apartment, 15x15 feet with a toilet and shower built as an extension to the house. The house had hot water and rented for $45 per month plus utilities. The average salary of the father, Frank, is $50 per week. Frank stays in town to be able to get to work by 6 a.m. The house was condemned by the Board of Health and the family relocated.
