Both Royce Hall and Kinsey Hall were built in 1928-29 and designed by Allison and Allison, Architects. Powell Library was built in 1927-29 and Haines Hall was built in 1928. Both buildings were designed by architect George W. Kelham. These four buildings were constructed in a northern Italian Romanesque Revival style. Farther behind in the photo is the bridge, which crosses the gulley to the east, to Hilgard Avenue. The bridge was designed by architect George W. Kelham. The Holmby Hills - Westwood area, had few houses at this time. Wilshire Boulevard crosses the photo to the top. Photo dated: April 11, 1929.
