Test pile, 45' long, pulled at dock of Shell Oil Company, Martinez, California. Nov. 27, 1920. Pile was encased with concrete after it was placed several weeks earlier. Concrete was poured into wooden forms, made in 2 halves and places around the pile. Pulling was to ascertain if concrete flowed uniformly around the pile and if it harderened enough or was not deteriorated by salt water to impair its Teredo resistance. E.F
