Photograph caption dated March 27, 1957 reads, "Valley men aid lost boy hunt - Capt. Howard Nedwed, of Sheriff's Mounted Posse 12, resident of San Fernando, is mounted and gives deputy Herb Conke, of Sylmar, final instructions before starting to search rugged terrain in vicinity of Devil's Gate Dam for Tommy Bowman, 8, missing since Saturday, Volunteer posse, including many Valley members, was called out early today for all-out search."
