Description
Photo shows Hugh and Carmelita Boyle's "Cypress Knoll" house in background and cows in foreground. Cypress Knoll was built by the Boyles circa 1885 and remodeled in 1912. The original address was 10 Manor Terrace and later changed to 12 Manor Terrace. This is the site where, in 2004, bones and coffins from the mid-1800s were found under the house as it was being remodeled (see additional info in Houses & Buildings - 10-12 Manor Terrace folder). The cows in the foreground are standing on land now occupied by Park School. The cattle carry the brand of Inez Reed Deffebach. Carmelita Natividad Garcia Boyle is the only child of Hilaria Reed (widow of John T. Reed) and Bernardino Garcia. Residents of Cypress Knoll have included included Hugh and Carmelita Natividad (Garcia) Boyle, Hugh Boyle II, Carmelita and Sara Hilarita Boyle Silberberg, and Sidney Boyle. V2 and V3 versions also exist. The only difference between the versions is their size. V2 is 4.5"x3"; V3 is 13.5"x9".
