Description
This monument was erected at Asakusa Park next to Matsuchiyama Buddhist Temple, Tokyo, Japan. The unveiling took place on June 20, 1956. According to the man responsible for the monument, Yoshizo Minagawa, the inscription was written by one of the leading contemporary writers in Japan and the monument was engraved by one of the famous stone-masons in Tokyo. Minagawa included an English transcription of the inscription in his letter to de Forest dated 21 July 1956 (see 2003-34-188).
