Photograph caption dated January 10, 1962 reads "Mrs. Nelle McGinnis lives alone at 1210 Warren St., San Fernando, but her home is usually filled with children. Especially last Monday when she celebrated her 78th birthday and 26 neighbor children and three parents flocked in and threw her a 'complete surprise' birthday party. Among cakes, ice cream and presents was a cake shaped like one of Mrs. McGinnis' favorite bonnets. The woman admits she loves to have the children play in her yard and house and always has some type of treat for them."
