Description
Yolanda Barnes discusses her novel, “When It Burned to the Ground.” She begins by explaining her book is about a street preacher who lives in a bad neighborhood. She discusses the overall themes in the book of downfall and decay. She talks about getting her works published in magazines and writing sections of her book in poetry. Martinson asks Barnes to read a passage in the book about a girl whose mother is dying. She ends the interview by talking about how she is a professor and teaches a comparative literature class.
