Sir Alexander King was the general counsel of the Cinematograph Exhibitors Association of Great Britain. He was instrumental in furthering the cause of the cinema in Scotland, opposing taxes on theater owners. Mark Ostrer was managing director of the Gaumont-British Picture Corporation.
Shown, left to right, are Mark Ostrer, Lady King, daughter Alexandra, and Sir Alexander King. The men are visiting Los Angeles to work out a settlement of British tax levies on American films. Photograph dated October 21, 1947. The four are seated on a sofa.
