He was instrumental in furthering the cause of the cinema in Scotland, opposing taxes on theater owners. Mark Ostrer was managing director of the Gaumont-British Picture Corporation. Shown, left to right, are Mark Ostrer, Lady King, daughter Alexandra, and Sir Alexander King. The men are visiting Los Angeles to work out a settlement of British tax levies on American films.
