Description
Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer of the front of Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa (founded 1 September 1772), ca.1865. A bullfight is taking place in the clearing in front of the mission while spectators look on. The mission church, at right, has three arched doorways in front and a cross on the apex of the peaked roof. A low long building to the left of the church has a covered porch and tile roof. Another small building with spectators on the porch sits across the clearing from the mission proper near a tall tree.
