Photograph article dated July 21, 1964 partially reads, "The Hope Guild has set July 30 as the day for its 13th annual Day at the Races at Del Mar. Members will board the specially chartered train at 10:30 a.m. at Union Station, according to Mrs. John Givens, chairman. The train will make a stop at Santa Monica for guests from the Balboa area... Mrs. Albert Shea, president of Hope Guild, said that proceeds will aid the guild's work for cerebral palsy and retarded children at the Kennedy Child Study Center at St. John's Hospital, Santa Monica." Photograph caption reads, "Hope Guild's annual Day at the Races is anticipated by Mrs. Robert Conover, Tarzana, and Mrs. Ernest J. Billman, Encino. Horse is Sly Guy."
