"Enon. Geschw. Gericke und Weber." ("Enon. Brethren Gericke and Weber."). Four older people, two women and two men, in front of a building. The white-haired man on the left might be Friedrich Gericke, born in 1868 in Freidrichsthal, Greenland. From 1896-1907 he was a Missionary in Greenland, where he also married Elisabeth Langerfeld. From 1907-1909 he stayed in Europe, taking up work as a Missionary in South Africa in 1909 until 1935. In 1909 he started off in Genadendal where he stayed until 1910, when he came to Elim until 1913. From 1913-34 he was stationed in Enon. In 1935 he retired. -- The woman next to him is probably his wife Elisabeth Gericke. She was born in 1871 in Neusalz / Oder. She, too, worked as a Missionary in Labrador from 1897-1907. From 1909-35 she worked as a Missionary in South Africa. She retired in 1935. -- Nothing much is known about the other man and the woman. There were several Webers of indigenous origin working in South Africa. -- A further picture of these Brethren can be found under record number 13261.
