View 1 (2008-1423). Vallejo -- view 2 (2008-1424). and U.S. Navy Yard, Mare Island, Cal. James Topley came to Vallejo in 1852 eventually running drugstore. He was amateur photographer, taking pictures of Vallejo beginning in 1850's. After his death, his sons James Henry and William Henry continued photographing Vallejo into 1920's. $
