Description
The Valley to Vietnam series, produced by Sacramento Public Library, traces the arc of experience of Vietnam era veterans living in the Sacramento, California area. Sacramento native Greg McNeill went to Vietnam in June 1969 as member of the 3/5 Marines, spending much of his time wielding a M-79 grenade launcher during sweeps of the An Hoa Basin. McNeill speaks to the routine and terror of Search and Destroy missions, R and R in Bangkok, and his spirited involvement in area veterans' organizations.
