Photograph caption dated May 10, 1954 reads "Mrs. George Horton, left, hostess; Jack Truss, speaker; Mrs. Charles Fischer, chairman Encino district; Mrs. Ralph Kraus, social chairman; Mrs. Robert Williams, publicity, met with more than 40 persons to plan work to elect Governor Goodwin J. Knight at the June 8 elections." Knight, a Republican, was running for re-election against Democrat Richard P. Graves.
