Image of a head-and-shoulders portrait of comedian Joe Sullivan in formal dress, with a twig and flower border; date sheet for a November 3, [1883], show, presumably at the Fulton Opera House in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, pasted below image. Probable date based on month and day in date sheet and printer history; James G. Hyde worked as a lithographer from 1882 until 1885 (Last, The Color Explosion, page 197). A Lancaster, Pennsylvania, newspaper advertised the Sullivan in the comedy "Maloney's Raffle" at the Fulton Opera House on November 3, 1883. (Lancaster Daily Intelligencer, 2 November 1883, page 3). "J.G. Hyde, Ltho. / No. 12 Frankfort St. N.Y."--text, lower right. "Opera House / One Night Only, / Saturday, Nov. 3"--text, date sheet at bottom.
