Photograph caption dated August 4, 1948 reads, "Members of the Foothill Club for the Blind enjoy their semi-annual picnic at the home of Mrs. Howard Bixby, 424 N. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Shown are Mary Flynn, Walter H. Dorrance, Lisa Rogers (left to right), and standing is Dr. Chester W. Parish, president of the club. Members provided their own entertainment. Burbank and Glendale Lions clubs aid the group and sponsor its various activities. Mr. and Mrs. Harry James of Glendale, originated the organization and arranged for the picnic."
