Description
Scope/Content: Similar photo in “Beach Rat Pix”, p. 112: “Croaker fishing always used to improve in the bay when the dredgers started working, because they dug up clams for them to eat. They also liked having the bait boats unload scoops of live bait … into receivers, supplying them with more food. I used to see Jack Nelson dump boxes of breakfast food into this receiver to feed the sardines and anchovies, if he was planning on keeping the bait in the receiver very long.”
