Photograph (engineering notebook photoprint) looking south from foot of 60th Avenue across new Ballona Creek Channel and rock jetties, Los Angeles County. House formerly owned by Mae Murray at foot of 63rd Avenue is white stucco house beyond south jetty. This was the result of a 6.2 tide on 9 January 1940 accompanied by heavy ground swells and 30 foot breakers which did considerable damage to piers and ocean front property between Newport Beach and Malibu. Also visible are: beach, other houses, street lights, ocean, utility poles and lines. No legible signs.
