Description
"Colin Chang age 12 yrs. A patient in Anlu Men's Hospital for about two years. A small boy that I [Gladys Stephenson] found one morning crouched down by our hospital gate with a large horrible wound in his leg. He was one of the refugees from the flooded district south of the Anlu circuit. Someone had brought him on a donkey to our hospital and left him there. We took him in and Dr operated ont he leg and removed the dead bone. The wound healed but the leg needed a bone graft so he was taken down to Hankow [now Wuhan] hospital to have it done. Both here and in Hankow he learned many hymns and very much about the love of the Lord Jesus. He used to sit up in bed and tell new patients all about the Saviour Jesus that the hospital people worshipped also he would teach them the hymns he knew. He recovered and has now returned to his country home. Photograph taken just outside our children's ward at Anlu". Print and caption from Sister Galdys Stephenson, Hupeh [now Hubei].
