Photograph of an exterior view of the Los Angeles State Building in the first stages of construction, at First Street and Broadway, on November 12, 1930. Several bulldozers and automobiles park in the soil of a new construction site, while planks, metal poles and other pieces of construction equipment sit in the middle of the broken ground. An elevated structure that slants at an angle can be seen crossing center as well, while several buildings appear in the background.
