Description
This is a photo of Meade Kibbey (left) and Sacramento Mayor Richard H. Marriott (right) at the unveiling of Kibbey's "Africa Emerging" Sculpture in 1974. After the sculpture was rejected for the State Fair Art Show and K Street Mall merchants expressed worry over the placement at 7th and 8th street becoming a place for demonstrators, the sculpture finally found a home at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library in Sacramento.
