Description
Mrs. W. G. Small, PTA president, turned truck driver for a day when Atwater Elementary School conducted its first wastepaper drive of the school year on October 24, 1944. Here she is being assisted by (left to right) Beverly and Buddy Small, daughter and son, and Joyce Tarro. Mrs. Small brought in collections from neighborhood depots to the school grounds. Atwater collected an average of more than 40 pounds per pupil.
