Description
Oakland Stompers Grapevine from December 1977. Cover photo shows the new North American Soccer League Oakland Stompers General Manager Dick Berg, Owner Milan Mandaric, and Head Coach Mirko Stojanovic. Contents include an announcement about the Stompers founding with descriptions of categories of fans with wine-themed names such as season ticket holders called the "Connoisseurs," youth fan club members called the "Tiny Bubbles", etc. Also included is a description of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum which is the Stompers home stadium, a story about the projected rivalry with the San Jose Earthquakes, highlights from the NASL, a request for ideas for the new team's uniforms, a January 1978 calendar, and several articles on youth soccer.
