Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph caption dated November 15, 1947 reads, "Two of the five persons injured today in the crash of a truck-trailer at Los Palos street and East Olympic boulevard are shown above. They are, Ann Pardo, 7, left, fractures to both legs, and Art Galvin, 40, bruises about the face and body." Note: Other victims included Mrs. Librada Traslavina, 43, her daughter Alicia, 11, son Arturo, 5, and family friend Mauro Baltherra, 45, who were killed when they were struck by Edward L. Gannon's 70,000-pound truck in the East Los Angeles crosswalk. Gannon was arrested 6 hours after the accident and was eventually arraigned on four counts of manslaughter and one count of hit and run for leaving the scene without rendering aid or assistance.
