Today, Mobil continues as a major brand name within the combined company. Glendale was incorporated as a city in 1906, consisting of 1,486 acres. With population growing from 13,756 in 1920 to 62,736 in 1930, Glendale called itself "The Fastest Growing City in America". By the new millennium, Glendale's population was approximately 195,000.
