Description
Photograph of people on a Los Angeles county beach, ca.1940. A playpen sits on the sand in the center with towels draped over it and an umbrella placed inside. A box sits in front of the playpen while a man and a woman to the right face each other as they lounge on the beach. To the left, two men and one woman lay on their towels looking towards an object in between them. An umbrella with hanging towels stands above them. In the background, people lay on the sand with umbrellas of different sizes and colors planted above them. Photoprint reads "Sun worshippers of all ages find recreation on the beaches of Los Angeles County. Shielded by a beach umbrella and confined by a play pen even those of tender years are taken by their parents to the sand, where they enjoy the sunshine and beach as much as do their elders".
