Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated June 12, 1962 reads "Ya-ya, girls. It started in London on Whitsuntide holiday, girls by the hundreds wearing the world's shortest dresses--hemlines two to eight inches above the knees. They're called ya-ya girls, coming from yeah-yeah, meaning approval and appreciation. 'It will become a popular fad,' says Van Nuys ya-ya girl Linda Miller, 20, upper left. 'But how do you tie your shoe in one?'"; See images #00122997 through #00123000 for all photos in this series.
