Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the house of Joseph and Anna Bixel, Columbia, 1894. The several windows with wooden shutters are in a wall of damaged wooden paneling that surrounds the doorway. The house stands on what appears to be a brick foundation on a hill covered in trees and bushes. Each level of the house has a different color of wood paneling, the second story darker than the first story or the roof. A room protrudes from the left wall into the thick trees. Picture file card reads "The house of Joseph and Anna Bixel who moved to Los Angeles in 1878 and went into real estate business. Bixel Street is named for him".
