Looming ever present in the background is the People's Bank and California Federal buildings on Wilshire Boulevard. Occasionally Alison Jefferson bike rides in her neighborhood, but usually, she takes an early morning "power walk." She is a familiar figure. Neighbors and friends drive by and wave. Sometimes deep in thought she will hear a voice from a passing car say, "Hello Alison!"
