Description
Photograph of a view of the bell tower at Mission San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, California, ca.1900. The mission-style bell tower consists of four large arches cut into an adobe wall where the bells reside. The bells, each of different sizes, are held up by wooden beams and ropes. In addition, a rope is tied to the clapper and tied to an anchor in the wall. To the left of the bells is a curved parapet that stands above the wall. On top of the parapet is a cross. The condition of the bell tower wall and nearby structures are in a state of disrepair.
