"Ricksha mit 3 Kindern." ("Rickshaw with three children."). The picture shows a man of African origin standing in front of a rickshaw which has two big wheels. He holds the wooden sticks to pull it. On one of the sticks hangs a bell. The man wears trousers with fringes and feathers on his left arm. He has a pipe in his mouth and seems to wear some kind of flowers or plants on his head. In the rickshaw sit two young girls and one boy of European origin. All wearing hats. In the background a tree. Written on the image: "Ricksha in Kapstadt. 1492." ("Rickshaw in Cape Town. 1492."). It is very likely that this picture was taken in Durban, not Cape Town since rickshaws are typical for the city of Durban but not for Cape Town.
