Photograph caption dated May 20, 1965 reads, "Smiles after she got her divorce from Sid Luft." After 13 years of marriage, Judy Garland obtained a default divorce in the Santa Monica Superior Court on the grounds of physical and mental cruelty. Luft was ordered to pay $300 per month for the support of the children. He was granted visitation rights but was forbidden to take the children out of the county without court permission.
