Gisele MacKenzie was born on January 10, 1927 in Winnipeg, Canada. She was an accomplished singer, actress and violinist and appeared on many variety shows in the 1950s and 60s, most notably The Jack Benny Show and Your Hit Parade. She hosted her own show from 1957-1958, performed on stage in several musicals, and later acted in television shows. MacKenzie was married twice and had two children. She died on September 5, 2003. Photograph caption dated June 1, 1962 reads "Encino Chamber President Dr. Arnold Greene, left, presents Giselle (sic) Mackenzie, Encino's honorary mayor, with a painting of herself. It will hang on the wall of the chamber's office."
