Description
Image of eleven vignettes depicting The Miners' Ten Commandments and an elephant pointing with its trunk to a sign for Ten Commandment [sic] on a cabin. The commandments deal with mining practices, moral issues, and family matters. The vignettes surround the text at the center of the image which describes the commandments. "H. Eastman del."--text, below the first vignette. "Eastman. [Anthony & Baker]."--text, below tenth vignette. "Sun Print, San Francisco. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1853, by James M. Hutchings, in the Clerk's Office of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Orders, pre paid, addressed "[Box H Placerville, El Dorado Co., Cal."]."--text, below image. Part of the right side of the image has been torn away on the right side. Paper color: blue.
