Old ranch house which once stood where San Marion Avenue and Sierra Madre Boulevard meet in a V-intersection today. The ranch house was the home of Mr. N. A. Strain, foreman of honorable James De Barth Shorb of the San Marino Ranch. Mr Strain's son N. A. Strain, junior, was born in this house in 1896. The ranch house was razed about 1907 or 1908 to make way for the railroad spur to the Henry E. Huntington residence.
