Description
Emerald green wool sports tank top from the Civilian Conservation Corps. Front shows two large felt "Cs" for Conservation Corps and a small triangle with a pine tree and "U.S.C.C.C." The reverse has a large uniform number "9". During the Great Depression, President Franklin D. Roosevelt started the United States Civilian Conservation Corps on April 10, 1933. The corps provided room, board, and small salary to men who built structures and trails in the national parks.
