Photograph caption dated November 11, 1961 reads, "NBC's Joyce Miles stands beside a six-foot, do-it-yourself Santa Claus which any home craftsman can build by using simplified Steve Ellingson plans. The Santa, sleigh and reindeer, each individual items, are printed on durable storm-proof paper which can be attached to plywood to create the display shown above. The plans and past-ons are available by sending currency, check or money order to Steve Ellingson, Valley Times TODAY pattern Department, P.O. Box 2383, Van Nuys, Calif. The prices: Santa, $2 each; sleigh, $2 each, and reindeer, $1.25 each."
