Photograph caption dated March 10, 1958 reads, "The field of prep hurdlers from Van Nuys and Burbank are virtually all even at this point but when the race was over it was Denny Powers, left, Van Nuys, the winner with John Swinney, right next to him, second. Others in the race are, left to right, Larry Smith, Van Nuys; Dave Pike, Van Nuys, and Fred Wright, Burbank. Pike finished third in the race as the meet was won yesterday by Van Nuys 84-20."
