Description
In 1907, flooding destroyed the original Fair Oaks Bridge, which was built in 1901 to connect Fair Oaks to the railroad spur ending at the river's south bank. The bridge was first reported to be "thrown twelve inches out of plumb" in early March, but that report proved incorrect. The span finally gave way on March 19, leaving behind only damaged approaches.
