Description
This circa 1910 postcard shows Plaza Park, as viewed from the southeast. As early as 1854, the plan was to set the block aside as the location for the California State Capitol building. With 300,000 dollars in hand for construction, the project was halted as it was determined that the project was unconstitutional.
