Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Ned Sparks was a comedian and charactor actor born on November 19, 1883 in Ontario, Canada. Mercedes Sparks was the sister of Charles Caballero, head of the purchasing department at Fox Studios. Ned Sparks worked in stage and film and became known for his trademark deadpan expression and dry wit. He and Mercedes Caballero were married from 1931-1935. Sparks appeared in 10 Broadway productions and over 80 films. He died on April 3, 1957. First photograph caption dated July 9, 1936 reads "With the same 'dead-pan' expression that won him fame in films, Ned Sparks is shown on the stand today when he 'wowed' the court at hearing of his ex-wife's suit to set aside their divorce settlement."; Second photograph caption dated August 12, 1936 reads "Wins tilt with former wife."; Third photograph caption dated November 23, 1939 reads "Tax collector tags comedian."
